Pointe des Châteaux is a stunning and unique attraction located at the easternmost tip of Grande-Terre, one of the main islands of Guadeloupe.
The area is characterized by its jagged cliffs and unique rock formations that have been sculpted by the relentless action of the wind and sea. One of the most notable rock formations is a cross that stands on the top of a rocky hill, offering a dramatic silhouette against the sky.
While the coastline here is primarily rugged, there are also some sandy beaches where visitors can relax and enjoy the natural beauty. The beaches tend to be more secluded and are perfect for those looking to escape the crowds.
Pointe des Châteaux is accessible by car, with a parking area near the start of the main hiking trail. The hike to the top is moderately challenging and can be enjoyed by visitors of various fitness levels, though good walking shoes are recommended.
Please note that there are limited facilities in the immediate area, so it’s a good idea to bring water, snacks, and sun protection. There are a few local vendors selling souvenirs and refreshments at the parking area.
